The name comes from a student who was in a class that Debra and Sara were teaching. She said she loved asking a question and getting a really juicy, in depth, OVER answers to her questions. Debra and Sara really do over answer every question. This student proclaimed that she was going to bring a roll of quarters and keep feeding the juke-box to hear all the hits...she was gonna “put a quarter in it and just sit back and listen”. We thought that was really funny and it has stuck.

Welcome back to Put a Quarter in It. This episode begins a four-part series on the heart, karma, Dharma, and so many other things. Sarah and Deborah teach us where the valve points are and what they mean by virtue. Let's join as they start to build our knowledge base.
SPEAKER_00Alright, we got we got a bit of a theme. And uh Deborah, is anything percolating for you? And I did I lay any seeds that got sounded exciting to talk about virtue and heart? Because I was thinking about talking about the heart points and using those as anchors to infuse virtue into the heart. You know, the other really cool thing to talk about is we we have not talked about is how the that Gilly, I don't know if you've heard me even say this, but about three weeks ago or four weeks ago, I'm reading one of the oldest books I've ever read. And the they talk about the strange flows, the eight strange flows as the regulators of time, and the elements as the five organizers of flesh. And when you read it like that, it's E equals MC squared. It's it's gravity times times speed equals mass. So there is that cool motherfucker.
SPEAKER_01Super cool.
SPEAKER_00It's so strange. And I've never since I've never seen it before, and I've not seen it after in any of the later. So it's like this really weird genius must have seen E equals MC squared, known how to create mass, and I never thought about how the strange flows meet the flesh, and that's energy plus time makes matter. That makes sense. That makes complete sense. So then when you do the bhagwa with the eight stations of the bagwa with the trigrams, you can put in and see that in so it's in a circle, right? It's in time. Anytime you see a circle, it's time. Then you insert central, and you you insert according to the pulses, it works. So you've got central with Earth, then you move around, it's um I'll send you a picture. So then you can see how the the radiant circuits actually organize time, and the radiant circuits when it starts to spin, that's where the matter happens. So the radiant circuits spin through the five elements. So here's the bagwa. The bagwa is in is earth and going counterclockwise, uh no, going clockwise, is earth, thunder, fire, lake, heaven, wind, water, mountain. And if you do that central trading flow, yang regulator, uh, yin regulator, yin bridge, governing belt flow, yang regulator, yang bridge. So what happens is as the strange flows start to form, you know, as we coagulate, start to form, they begin to spin, and that's what creates the flesh. So it's energy meets time, creates matter. It's E. This is that is E equals M C squared 6,000 years ago.
SPEAKER_02Amazing. That now we've got to reshoot. Uh, what's your class that the no, I can't think of it. We just did it last year. One of the one of the first ones. I'll just write another one. I'll just read it. Yeah. On the radiance and give it to them for free, like update. Yeah, yeah. Wow, that's so cool.
SPEAKER_00Isn't that wild? How did you find this book? Well, so here's what here's what I do, and I'm really I get into a lot of trouble this way because I have so I'll read, I'll read a paper, and then I always go to the bottom, and there'll be 50 references, right? And I click on that reference and I read that paper, and then I click on that reference and I read that paper, and before long I'm in some wormhole. I have no idea exactly where how I've gotten to it, but that's where I got it. So it's one of those, so it's a reference for a reference for a reference for a reference. What are you laughing at?
SPEAKER_01I'll I'll show you. And there's central. This is Rick's This is Rick's hologram. Oh, honeycomb. Central stays in the center and governing rotates around the outside, so that that's how the positions move. Right? So these are the positions for stomach. Oh, here's a better picture. These are the positions for gallbladder.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I have the basket weave. You have this book? Yeah, I have remember that's the one I got from Australia. I kept calling some weirdo Australia, and they're kind of like, who the fuck are you?
SPEAKER_01It's in this book.

SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, cool. All right. I have to think about that pattern again. Rick and I think a lot alike. Oh, yeah. Like, like, like our brains really did work really similar. Tell her really quickly about the the morning breakfast buffet story.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Jesus.
SPEAKER_00Rick Ut.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this is this is Rick Ut for sure. So this was in Italy. I was at a conference. This is God, this is back in the 90s. Milo was in middle school, and I so I went over to this conference so I could go to Paris and see my son. And I'm there, and Rick is there with his fifth wife, Nancy, who I like, who I liked. She was she was a Pisces, um, and she was a real character. So there every morning there's a breakfast buffet, and everybody at the conference is going to the breakfast buffet. And I come in, and Rick and Nancy are toward the end of the line, facing toward the door, and I come in and I get in the end of this long line. So there's this long line to get the food, and it and right in that same room are all the tables with all the other people who are already in there. And Rick sees me and he yells across this crowded dining room, Oh, Deborah, I had the best erotic dream about you last night. I want to tell you about it. It's like, oh dear God. Oh, shut up. But that's Rick. Rick was a Scorpio.
SPEAKER_00I think you've talked about him before. I've heard stories about him before. He's the truck driver that turned acupuncturist and never lost the truck driver edge. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He was an airplane mechanic. Well, airplane mechanic, I think.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So when we talk about heart, there's four points. There's four points to on the chest that we teach in Eden Energy Medicine that track the vitality. I want to use my words carefully here. The vitality, the vitality, health, it's health. I don't want to use the word health because it's not exactly what happens. The quality of the big valves in the heart. So find it, find a better word for me, Deborah.
SPEAKER_01Well, it is it it's it's a combination of synchrony and capacity. Explain that because you're gonna have for capacity is their ability to open and close properly, and then the synchrony is their timing of opening and closing.
SPEAKER_00So their ability, their strength to open and close. And so I'm thinking of the term ejection fraction. An ejection fraction is a reflection on how much power, how much squeeze the heart can do. And of course, the higher the ejection fraction, the more muscle strength. So, like a 19-year-old kid has an ejection fraction likely of between 70 and 80. And then maybe an 80-year-old man might have 45 or 50. I do know, I do know that if your ejection fraction is at 29 or below, they typically put you on heart transplant least lists. So, in other words, your your heart just does not have any power to squeeze it all the way to the ends of your toes. So if you've got cold hands or cold feet or blue lips, all that kind of stuff, it this the strength, the actual strength of the muscle, and then the timing. Because when one goes, the when one opens, the other has to close. And one closes, the other has to open. So we have these gates, you know, these open and closing gates and open and closing gates, and we get into trouble when that timing is off. So it's about the power, the capacity of each of those valves, and think of those each of the valves as a separate muscle, you know, like a separate yes, and right, because the because the heart muscle itself has has power of contract, you know, has power of motion and contraction.
SPEAKER_01And that is going to affect how great the capacity of the valves must be, right? Because if the heart is really contracting with a lot of strength, that means the blood is being forced through the chambers with a lot of vigor, and those valves have to be able to have the capacity to respond, to keep closed and to open. Whereas if that heart, if the heart muscle itself is less vigorous, means it's not for you know, the ejection fraction is lower, it's not forcing the blood through with the same force, then the valves aren't have aren't experiencing the same resistance of the of the blood against them. Does that make sense?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't like the word resistance. Is that the right word?
SPEAKER_01Do you want to um well they're not being pushed by the same force of flow, right? Right. As they are when that when that muscle is just really pushing strong volume through the vessels.
SPEAKER_00So there is, so what how would you discern in the word because the word I feel like I want to use instead of resistance is tension. That tension describes it better than resistance. And why do I think that's act more accurate? Do you know why? Because it feels better. That there is so I'm thinking of when one valve opens, the other one closes in that relationship. You know, that yeah, if that's a synchrony. The synchrony, and if you don't have that relationship between those two, it affects the squeeze. Right. So timing is off, it affects the power. Right. So so I know when the timing's off, sometimes it barely squeezes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, if you think about it as your front and back door and the wind is blowing, right? You you open one door and then the the wind comes in, you open the other door, and it tends to move through instead of whipping up the house. Right. And do we want that? Well, we want it to we we want the movement to have a to have its right rhythm, because it's all about the rhythm. Rhythm and synchrony um are really closely connected.
SPEAKER_02Do you like when the water when the wind comes in, sometimes like when you open the door, it'll close the door of the other door?
SPEAKER_00Is that kind of like yeah, it'll cause the another door to slam. Right. And we want that. And we want that. I mean, I mean, that's what mitral valve prolapse is. That valve door won't close, and some of that blue blood leaks back and takes garbage and no oxygen. You know, we see people's lips are blue or their fingernails are blue when they've got these mitral valve prolapses. So it's not thoroughly closing the back door. Is that a reflection on the strength of the squeeze, or is that a reflection on the timing? Or is it a reflection on the tissue of the valve? So I guess in some ways it doesn't matter because we're just gonna test these points and see what right? And then we're gonna fix them. And then we're gonna fix them, we're gonna fix them, but I always like to know what I'm fixing, you know.
SPEAKER_01So well, yeah, and it's also sometimes helpful for them to know what is happening, you know, what what's changing.
SPEAKER_00All right, so let's talk about the heart chamber points. So, all right, let's let's build this. Let's build this. All right, so let's do the four points first.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So our aortic valve is K24. On the right side. On the right side. Aortic, right side, K24. Tricuspid, right side K twenty-three. Pulmonary valve. Left side, lateral, just about half a soon lateral to K24. So lateral I mean a little further out towards your shoulder. Yeah. And you can feel you can feel that. Yeah, you can actually feel the pulm, yeah. Yeah. And then the metral uh is stomach 18, which is down by your nipple.
SPEAKER_01Well, it depends on where your nipples are these days. Yeah, well, we should maybe count that intercostal space.
SPEAKER_00Well, stomach 18. Yeah, so stomach 18 by your nipple. You guys, you guys, at this point, I'm hoping that you have your own acupuncture charts, because if you're looking for a location on a podcast, you're in trouble. That's true. Podcasts aren't great for point location demonstrations. Roots of the breast. So those are your four major valves in your heart. So let me give you some more information.
SPEAKER_01Fifth intercostal space on stomach 18. In line with the nipple. In line with the nipple.
SPEAKER_00So what we do is we take three-finger notches to those places and we simply test for vitality. It's not a bad idea to test if you get a bad answer to test, go back and test for polarity to make sure you're actually getting vitality. So we're looking for vitality. So those are the four chambers, the test points for the chambers of the heart. And what we're measuring in those moments is we're measuring either the power to squeeze or the timing. And so let's skip, let me give you a little more information. So your pulmonary artery, which again, what's the what's the point on that one? Which is on the left side, lateral to K-24. Is and put this in the pipe and smoke, and we'll explain it in a minute, is blue blood, young blue blood. So one more time. Your pulmonary valve, which is lateral to K24, on the left side of your body, is young blue blood. All right. Your metral valve, which is stomach 18. W just said it's in the fifth intercostal. In line with the nipple. Root of the breast, it's called. Root of the breast, stomach 18. That's metral. Metral is red blood, and it's young red blood. So let's go to the right side of the body. Let's go back to our aortic valve K24. That's on the right side of the body, K24, and that is mature red blood. Then our metral valve, excuse me, our tricuspid valve, tricuspid, is K23 on the right side of the body, and that is mature blue blood. So let's talk about why that's important. So why do we have red blood and blue blibbed everybody?
SPEAKER_01Well, it's a matter of whether it's oxygenated or not. So the so the blood that enters the right atrium is deoxygenated. It's passed all the way through the body already. And so it comes into the right atrium, and then it's going to go down into the right ventricle, which will then push it to the lungs. So that deoxygenated blood is the blue blood. So the first valve we reach when the blue blood enters the heart is the young blue, and then the mature blue is the one that comes after, the one that's going to actually push it into the lungs. Then it's going to become oxygenated. Now it's now it's quote-unquote red blood, it's oxygenated blood, and it's going to come back into the left atrium, and then it's then it's going to go into the left ventricle and be pushed out through the aorta to through the entire body.
SPEAKER_00So we have our blue blood that comes back to the lungs to be revived, and then the lungs revive the blood with oxygen and send it back out to the body. So we have this system like a clock, like one hand, you know, one gear hits the other, makes the other one work. So we have these gears, so to speak, within this heart. And of course, this is a muscle. So when we talk about the blue blood, we're talking about blood that belongs to yin. And when we talk about the red blood, we're talking about red blood, the blood belongs to the yang. So we have even within the organ of the heart itself, it's the clearest organ to see the yin and yang reacting, even in the damn color. I mean, you just you just can't idiot proof it more to see the yin and yang action in the heart with the red and the blue. Yeah. So this this idea of, and I made a really, really bold statement last week when Deborah and I have a mentoring year, we're taking advanced students through protocols and things that we loved, and it's really fun. So I made a really bold statement, and we we had heart day, so we're studying heart all on one day. And I made a really bold statement and said that all disease is heart disease. And the reason I say all disease is heart disease is because all disease is an extension of some kind of shock to the heart. And heart, even though the disease may not be a quote-unquote heart disease, you know, it may manifest as rheumatoid arthritis, but all disease initiates between kidney and heart. There is a disconnect that happens with heart, and heart has difficulty ruling the kingdom of the body. So somewhere, some way, somebody in the body, there's been a shock that has turned, they've turned their face away from their supreme leader, the yellow, you know, the the the the ruler of of our existence. So that part has turned away, and that shock. So that is in and we're talking literally an electrical charge that opposes each other like the backsides of magnets. For those of you that ever tried to put it together back side of the magnet, I hope you understand there's nobody in the galaxy that can. Not a single energy can join the backsides of magnets. Period. So, and not even heart. So, heart's longing, when the shock runs through the body, heart's longing is always to join. So there's lots and lots of, and so when an organ system or a body system goes off without heart's direction, without heart's governance, without heart's mind at its soul, at its purpose, at its mission, it's out on its own and it is vulnerable to all the things out there. So when I say that all disease is an extension of heart shock, it is. So there's a really interesting process called virtue. And it sounds, I don't know, I really I don't know. When I start to talk about virtue, it feels like I'm virtue signaling.
SPEAKER_01I don't know how awkwardness that word has been taken over by the culture in a very unfortunate way.
SPEAKER_00So tell me, restore my faith in the word virtue, please.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm gonna look virtue, I'm gonna look up the it comes from Latin virtue, meaning fourth, force, strength, vigor, moral strength, qualities, abilities. So it comes from the Proto-Indo-European root for man or person. So that's really interesting. You you you sound like you didn't know that. Well, I I've looked this up before, but it's been a long time and I had forgotten it.
SPEAKER_00You know, the virtue, the word for virtue and in Chinese medicine is the same for infant and sage. It's de. Yeah. And so virtue, so when when the Chinese talk about virtue, they talk about the original self, the innocence, um, the original mission. You know, and so they talk about how um Lonnie Jarrett talks a lot about how we return, uh if if you've lived well, you return to the infant. Only you have the wisdom of the sage. But you have, and so when they talk about day, when they talk about infant, and when they talk about virtue, they talk about observing nature and moving yourself according to the laws of nature. That is the original Chinese version of when they talk about virtue. It doesn't have this thing like I'm a good girl or I do the good thing. It means it would be very virtuous of me, if I'm in Miami in July, not to wear a big downy puffer coat. Because I am ignoring nature, right? And it would be very foolish of me to wear a string bikini in Gnome Alaska in January. I would be going against nature, I would not be considered virtuous. So you know, 67 years old in a bikini in Gnome Alaska in January.
SPEAKER_01I can see that I would do it in July.
SPEAKER_00I can see where people it would be more virtuous if I didn't, I can see where people would judge my virtue doing that in the sense that I would be a bad person, you know, that kind of thing. But this idea of day, of going back to the innocent. So you think about the infant, and the infant, when when they talk about virtue, they talk about acknowledging the animal of our physiology and supporting that, that that is virtuous to do. So it's virtuous to go to bed at dusk, it's virtuous to get up with the sun, it's virtuous, you know, you know, you you hear so oh no, you're laughing. I can tell you're laughing. What do you mean?
SPEAKER_01You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Loves what it loves. Thank you, Mary Oliver.
SPEAKER_00Brilliant Sage. The brilliant sage, the brilliant dead. So when we talk about virtue, and you and you hear and you start to study how powerful the healing protocols of virtue were, how they would just snap people, you know, spontaneous recoveries and all that kind of stuff. It's because what they do is they reset, like plugging and unplugging your computer, they reset you back to the original settings. Factory settings.

SPEAKER_01Day is day just means factory settings. Well, it's default settings. So day, D E default settings. Default settings. There you go.
SPEAKER_00And honey, when I see the word day, they have a little thing over the E. What is that little thing called? Like if people ever look that up. That little mark, just like a little dot, a slash or something above the E.
SPEAKER_01Like an accent?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, almost. Yeah, I don't know what they call it, but it depends on which direction it is. It goes to the right. When I look at it, it goes to the right. But anyway. It goes up. Up to the right, yeah. Over the E. And you all can see me doing this on the podcast. I'm pointing northeast.
SPEAKER_02I'm pointing towards Maine. It's pointing, it's pointing away from the D. It's pointing away from the D.
SPEAKER_00So this idea that we take the virtue to these four perhaps troubled valves and understand that two are yin receptors and two are yang receptors right away. There is magical options, protocols that just start to open up for people, right? So when you start to understand this dynamic tension and how to make to make the heart beat, it has to be this perfect balance of yin and yang, this perfect charge. And we know that we get into so much trouble when we have too much of a yang charge or too, you know, or too much of a yin charge, we're too contracted, or we're too expanded. And the heart can has to modulate all our goddamn moods when we do that. And and it and it has to do that, and it keeps beating evenly because it has to, and then we go crazy, and then the heartbeat starts to go crazy. So we get into aphibs, we get into, you know, one valve. If we get too young, then we we're pushing too much blood out, you know, or it so it the principle of literally the heartbeat sets the tone for the entire body, and then as we start to spin off in the world with our insane craziness, the heart has to keep all those different rhythms, all that nuttiness in check, and it just starts to scramble.
SPEAKER_01So, this I think would be a good moment to bring up the fact that one of the crucial one one of the crucial things that helps to maintain the polarity of those charges are our minerals, our electrolytes. And probably some of you have heard this story before. We were talking about Rick Ut earlier before we came on the podcast for something else, but um Rick was became a kinesiologist because he had a he had a congenital heart condition, and he was a patient of Dr. Sheldon Beal, who was one of the original Dirty Dozen, uh, who studied with George Goodhart. I think that he is.
SPEAKER_00You have to explain the dirty dozen. There's a lot of people that are. Okay, so the dirty dozen. Don't don't leave them with the dirty dozen. Okay.
SPEAKER_01So I'm just thinking of a movie, you know. Well, that's where it came from because I think it was either the late, late 60s or early 70s. A lot of movies like 1967, I think. Yeah. And these 12 chiropractors who were studying with George Goodhart would meet with him once a month, kind of as a as an advanced mentoring, and and they would also bring their findings and whatever they were researching, and they would have this rich exchange once once a month. And so because there were 12 of them, they called themselves the dirty dozen. What if they had recorded those, Deborah? Oh my gosh, can you imagine? I so I think that Sheldon Deal is the only one who is still living. I could be wrong about that, but I I think it he lives down in Tucson. Um so uh Rick was a was a patient of Sheldon's, and Sheldon got wind that Rick was in the hospital again because of his heart. And the things were so serious this time that his cardiologist had told him to bring the priest in. Get his affairs in order, bring the priest in because I will not be seeing you in the morning. It was it was that grave. So Sheldon goes to see him in the hospital and takes one look at him and says, Rick, you look like hell, and does the electrolyte tap, which I'll explain in a moment, which takes about 10 seconds to do. And he said, I'll see you tomorrow. And he leaves. And the next day, his cardiologist was shocked to find Rick sitting up in bed and eating his breakfast, and he was discharged five days later and went on to live another 30 years, I think, after this. Wow. So this really shows, I mean, and plus the fact that it's not uncommon for people who've had a heart condition or had some kind of heart incident to wind up back in the ER because they've been put on a low sodium diet and their sodium level drops. You know, sodium is one of our one of our minerals, one of our electrolytes. It makes the charges jump. Sodium. Yeah, so they charges jump. They think they're having another heart attack, but really they just don't have enough sodium to keep the mineral balance going and keep things flowing. So this electrolyte tap, which really makes a big difference to the minerals available for use by the heart and the cardiovascular system, is so simple. It's just the K27 point on one side, so right under the collarbone, up against the sternum, and spleen 21 on the other side, which is on the side seam at the bottom of where your bra band would be. Are you crossing? Are you crossing your same side?
SPEAKER_00You can do both. You can do same side, same timer. I've always crossed. I I cross, but I do the cross first. Like I'm tapping right now on my right K27 and my left spleen 21. And I'm doing my left K27 and right spleen 21.
SPEAKER_01Between the two of us, but you're gonna do you're gonna do at least both the crossing, but you can also do the same-side ones as well. So keeping that balance. Uh Sheldon Deal calls this blood chemistry, the blood chemistry correction. Cool. I never knew what he called that. That's awesome. Yeah, blood chemistry. But um, I've heard Donna call it um, I think it was Donna who called it the electrolyte tap, or it might have been that's how people learned it.
SPEAKER_00I didn't learn that from you. I originally learned it from Donna, and then I get the education from you, is what I got. Like, like I didn't know where it came from, and I was so thrilled to understand that. So that was really cool. So, yeah, so that so what happens is with those, you know, it's the the electrolyte is the cell salt that makes the electricity jump. So it's the spark that does that, and the heart runs on electricity. It actually, I I don't even know how to say this. I would love to figure out how to say this because it runs on electricity, it makes itself. Yeah, and I don't quite know even how to say it's a chicken and the egg. You know, it's like it it it it generates it, it's I know it's self-generating. I mean that's but it's so weird, it can't do electricity unless it has its own electricity. And it the electricity, there's a roundabout way to say that. Can you say that better than I'm saying it?
SPEAKER_02Um I'm just thinking about what you were saying earlier, Sarah, about the EM uh squared uh and the radiant circuits creating matter. Would uh would that I mean if it's creating the radiant circuits, which we know are uh well, I don't know, are they would they would they be able to create that electric matter from the beginning and then that just starts the whole the only thing what Jill and I are talking about before we actually start, I think we before we start a recording, I came across and I this is another fun rabbit hole, we'll see, we'll see where it goes, but I have never seen this said before.
SPEAKER_00And for those of you that listened to us for a while, you know I'm really nutty about physics right now. I'm really into E equals MC squared shit. So I was reading in a really ancient text that where they called the eight radiant circuits, in those days they didn't call them the eight circuits, they called them the eight regulators of time. And they referred to what we know to be the five elements or the five rhythms. They call that the five organizers of flesh. And what that essentially says is you've got time and you've got you've got time, movement creates matter. That's E equals MC squared. So there's something about that moment, the chicken and the egg thing, who regulates the time, and then the flesh creates the time. So the flesh creates the regular, the circuits create the flesh, the flesh creates the regular, you know, it's this back and forth thing with no beginning and no end. The alpha and the omega. Ooh, let's do. That's never happened. But um, but yeah, there is this fish eating the tail energy that happens in heart.
